Community Christmas Fundraiser hoping to reach new heights in 2016

Vista Radio and the St. Vincent De Paul Society are teaming up once again for the Community Christmas Fundraiser set for Wednesday and Thursday.

Organizer Bernie Goold says the bar has been raised high for 2016. “We expect to fill between 275 and 300 hampers for people at Christmas as we do depend on the generosity of the people of Prince George and Vista Radio has played such a big part.”

The Holiday Season is very crucial time for the Society according to Goold. “We get 80% of our monetary donations and about 85% of our food donations over the Christmas season and we do serve 365 days a year through meals and family hampers.”

Certain kinds of food are also in high demand. “Fruit and vegetables are a luxury not just a necessity any more so we want to provide good fruit and veg bags each week for our families so that it’s not out of the diet,” says Goold.

While food is the most crucial item you can donate, toys and money will also be accepted.

To drop off your donation you can visit 2977 Ferry Avenue.
