The fire danger rating throughout the region continues to decline.
Information Officer Jill Kelsh says wet weather combined with 162 fire fighters from Nova Scotia to Ontario have helped their efforts.
“All of them are staying within the Prince George fire centre and have been assigned to either the Mt. McAlister fire, the Red Deer Creek fire, or the Euchinko Lakes fire.”
She says the Mount McAlister fire has shrank considerably to 15,847 hectares, but a restriction has just been put in place 56 kilometers northwest of Chetwynd, to keep everyone out of the area due to the fire.
Kelsh says the fire danger rating throughout the Prince George Centre mostly ranges from “Moderate” to “Low” danger, with a few small pockets showing a “High” rating.
