Prince George City Council meets tonight for the second last time in 2016.
There will be a public consultation regarding Prince George’s proposed smoking and vaping bylaw. In a poll taken last year, over 80% of city residents were in favour of some sort of vaping regulation, many stating their right to a smoke-free environment.
The Prince George Youth Action Team will present to councillors about its work supporting children, youth and families experiencing mental health and substance use challenges. Currently, that includes training programs and de-stigmatizing media campaigns.
Property owners of the old Yellowhead Grove Golf Course are hoping to have the area rezoned. The Ministry of Transporation and Infrastructure is taking away part of the property, and the owners feel the remaining area isn’t large enough for a golf course.
Tonight’s meeting begins at 6 PM.
