Prince George Hospice Society kicks off first ever Christmas campaign

The Prince George Hospice Society is starting their inaugural Christmas campaign known as ‘Give A Gift,’ with a goal of raising $25,000 for families in need of food and support.

According to the non-profit organization, the cost of feeding families is as high as $70 a day and Special Events Coordinator Sanja Knezevic says ‘Give A Gift’ is meant to bring everyone together.

“We can gather around for dinner, we can have a nice time, and a time when you don’t really have to think about cooking.”

The money donated is for the Hospice Society to purchase groceries for all of 2017 and Knezevic adds even volunteering brings more to the table.

“We have many volunteers here everyday that provide meals and it’s just one way to bring friends and family together in comfort.”

She says any donation, big or small, will help the cause, but giving a little extra will go a long way.
