The Prince George Advisory Committee on Accessibility is working hard to make it easier to get around the city.
It recently audited six city facilities and made a few suggestions to council the last night to make the facilities more accessible. These included things like improving CN Centre seating and making Kin Centre doors automatic.
Staff Liaison Hillary Morgan adds the committee is working to make facilities more age friendly as well.
“It’s really providing the framework for making sure that accessibility is addressed in a really comprehensive, really strategic way,” she says, “right now we’re working with staff to identify action items that can be a part of that plan.”
The committee has applied for grants to fund some of these improvements, like the Kin centre doors and Elkscentre updates. It’ll hear back at the end of the month.
