Prince George RCMP executed a search warrant at Edge City cell phone repair on 3rd Avenue and George St this evening.
Superintendent Warren Brown says the RCMP had been watching the business on suspicion of drug trafficking.
“We’ve had some unconfirmed information regarding drug trafficking for about a month now. Taking into account the source and credibility of the information and ensuring the safety of people who talk to us, it’s taken some time to gather enough evidence to get a search warrant.”
At least 3 individuals were taken into police custody and Warren confirmed that two arrests have been made.
“This location in the community has been known for an over representation of Criminal Code offenses. We have a lot of complaints from the business community in this area for open drug dealing. We’ve looked at a number of different drug investigative avenues, this being another one.”
Warren says, while they have not yet confirmed which drugs were being sold, they suspect heroin and other street drugs as well as marijuana.
