BBBSPG doubles shuttle service with two new vans

Big Brothers Big Sisters Prince George can help more city kids with two new passengers vans.

The new 15-seaters are thanks to contributions from five of its community partners, which are Tyrod Industries Ltd, Integris Credit Union, Save on Foods, Trimline Signs and Electrical, and Obsession Automotive and Sales. These five are signing a new, 3-year renewal and contributing $75,000 over that time.

BBBSPG President Wende Bracklow says the vehicles will open new opportunities for the organisation.

“This allows us to grow our child care programs that are currently in place, now we have double the capacity. It also allows us to grow our community shuttle program which is a large portion of our annual budget.”

Bracklow wants the shuttle service to gross 50% of the annual budget.

Among the five sponsors two – Tyrod Industries Ltd and Obsession Automotive and Sales – are new. Jamie Kranrod, who works in Tyrod’s Finance and Administration, got on board because she’s a “firm believer that non-profit organisations need to build in order to be sustainable, they need to be able to build capacity and the community shuttle program is all about building capacity.”

Big Brothers Big Sisters helps more than the 225 city kids right now and can now serve more.
