Prince George RCMP is calling its Halloween night “average.” Police responded to 50 calls between 6:00 PM October 31st and 6:00 AM November 1st, a handful of which they called “significant.”
– Police received a call around 7:45 PM of a youth threatening another youth with a handgun near 5th Avenue and Tabor Boulevard. Police found a young male with a loaded replica pistol BB gun. While on-scene, officers heard that same male had inappropriately touched a young female. The male was arrested for Sexual Assault, Uttering Threats and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. The investigation is ongoing.
– Around 9:40 PM, police were called regarding assault near the corner of Massey Boulevard and Vanier Drive. An unknown male confronted a group of youth and spoke to them about harming people. The unknown male then pushed a young woman down and a young man into a fence. The group of teens fled the area. Police were not able to find the suspect, he’s described as Caucasian, slim, wearing blue jeans and a green coat.
– At about 10:30 PM, police received a weapons report near the corner of 15th Avenue and Spruce Street. An adult male was reportedly swinging a hard object at the end of a string and yelling. The RCMP found the male near Vancouver Street and 12th Avenue and believe he was intoxicated. He was arrested and put in a drunk tank until sober. Police seized the homemade weapon with plans to destory it.
– Shortly after 12:30 AM, police were called regarding a Break & Enter at a commercial building on the 200 block of 1st Avenue. Officers attended and found two people had entered a locked compound. Police arrested two adult females, aged 21 and 29. Both were released and given court dates. Police will continue investigating.
– Officers got another commercial Break & Enter call around 3:30 AM, this time on the 2200 block of Queensway. Police report a suspect entered a business, stole a small amount of cash, and took off before police were called. The male suspect is described as a slim build, under 6′ tall, wearing a grey hoody, jeans & sneakers. The investigation in ongoing.
