As Multi-Material BC’s recycling pickup plan gets closer, PG residents will soon see two blue boxes delivered to their doorstep.
Managing Director, Allen Langdon says the boxes will arrive to around 22,000 residents starting Monday and going until August.
Langdon says households will see two boxes showing up, one for paper and a larger one for metal and plastic.
Beginning September 1st, he says residents can expect pick-up every two weeks.
“They’ll also have access to depots for materials that are not included in the curbside program,” he says. “Those are glass, plastic film, and what’s commonly known as styrofoam.”
On the success of MMBC’s program in other parts of the problem, Langdon says he’s really heartened by the results.
“We’re seeing good resident participation and I think we’re tracking towards our objective of trying to increase recycling across the province,” he says.
the MMBC pickup program works on behalf of businesses that supply packaging and printed paper to residents.
