Highway 16 bus network well received: BC Transit

service
BC Transit has wrapped up public outreach for the bus network coming to the Highway 16 corridor between Prince George and Prince Rupert.

Spokesman Jonathan Dyck says most people were happy with what they saw, “we heard a high level of positive support for the draft plan and the process that had been produced.”

“We also heard feedback on it, there were some areas that needed to be changed so that it would work better for people living and working along Highway 16.”

Feedback revolved around additional stop locations, times of service and more. The full report can be viewed online here.

Friday and Saturday were the two most requested days for service.

“We are definitely taking the feedback we gathered along the Highway 16 corridor during the engagement sessions into consideration and you will see that reflected in the final implementation plan.”

Changes to the plan will be announced alongside that final plan later this fall, with the first phase of the 5-dollar a route service to roll at the end of the year.
