Prince George’s unemployment rate rose slightly last month compared to a year ago.
Statistic’s Canada’s May Roos crunches the numbers.
“Employment went up by 4,100 in June 2014 compared to June 2013. The unemployment rate also went up by 1.2 percentage points from 5 percent in June of last year, to 6.2 percent in June of this year.”
Roos says the increase in unemployment was actually due to more people entering labour force.
In BC, the unemployment rate remained unchanged in June.
