TELUS crews working to restore service after underground cable cut

4,500 TELUS customers in Prince George are without service after a third party road construction crew accidentally cut through an underground cable this morning.

The damage is said to be quite extensive.

“It’s going to be a challenging repair just due to the deep hole and the equipment that we need to bring in to restore the cable that was cut,” says TELUS media relations spokesperson Liz Sauve. “Right now we anticipate that all services – TV, Internet, home phone and wireless phone services – will be restored by tomorrow morning.”

Sauve says TELUS crews are already on scene and will be working around the clock to restore service.
