Council meets on a rare second Monday in a row.
The Outdoor Ice Oval Society is asking Council to make room in the 2018 capital budget for a refrigeration project. It’s estimated to cost about $3.7 million and would mean a year-round facility with top quality ice.
The yet-to-be-opened CrossRoads Brewery wants to put in a lounge and patio. If approved, the George Street microbrewery could sit up to 65 people from 4 PM – 10 PM daily.
An air quality report shows city air has improved over 18 years, but there’s still work to be done to reach the city’s green goals of lowering Fine Particulate Matter (PM) emissions from industrial, mobile, and wood burning and creating “an annual average PM2.5 ambient target of 5 ug/m3 of air” by Dec 31, 2016. To meet these standards, the group will keep up with its initiatives like planting more trees in the Bowl, funding sidewalks and educating the city on being “green.”
Tonight’s meeting begins at 6 PM in the Chambers.
