The future of the BC Conservative Party lies in familiar hands.
Dan Brooks was voted the Party’s leader on Saturday at the BC Conservative’s convention in Prince George. He received 52% of the votes.
Brooks says he learned a lot from his first go-around.
“The last time, I think in my head I was the leader of a few thousand Conservatives but this time it is my objective to a leader of 4.6 million British Columbians.”
If elected into power, one of his main objectives is to restructure Crown corporations, like BC lotteries and BC Liquor.
“The number one reason for Crown corporations in this Province needs to be economical development and economic growth. That’s why we need the government involved and that’s the only reason we want government involved in Crown (corporations).”
He says the Party’s top priority right now is to nominate candidates in 87 ridings for the May 9th election.
The Vanderhoof-native was the Party head from 2014 until February when he stepped down to deal with family and financial issues.
