A few more days of summer weather, expect Fall on Saturday

Fall is just around the corner but Environment Canada thinks Prince George can still squeeze out a few days of summer weather.

For those of you clinging to the sunshine, Meteorologist Ross MacDonald suggests you enjoy today and tomorrow to the fullest.

After that, it’s all over.

“We’ll see temperatures collapse down into 14 – 15 degrees with a fair amount of showers and rain through the area, and this is a change seen right through the entire province.

Today’s high is 22 degrees and tomorrow’s is 17, but between Saturday and Tuesday, expect a soggy high of 15. Those dreading the wet, cooler weather, there is a silver lining. MacDonald says La Nina was weaker than originally forecasted.

“In terms of a cooler than normal, and a little bit wetter than normal winter coming up, we kind of backed off on that projection a little bit to more of a more neutral, a more climatologically winter coming up.”

Even though it’ll already feel like Fall, MacDonald notes the Autumnal Equinox is Wednesday, September 21st.
