Former Liberal MLA Pat Pimm charged with assault

Peace River North MLA Pat Pimm has been charged with assault, in connection to an incident which allegedly took place in Dawson Creek on August 13th 2016

Special prosecutor Micheal Klein made the announcement today. Pimm was arrested last month and left the Liberal party citing unknown allegations on August 15th.

Pimm was also arrested as the result of a domestic incident with wife in 2011, however a special prosecutor decided against laying charges and he returned to the Liberal party.

He makes his first court appearance at 9am tomorrow in Dawson Creek. He remains the independent MLA of Peace River North riding, but announced last year that he would not be running for reelection.

The Criminal Justice Branch says they will not be making any further comment.
