Prince George Humane Society asking for donations of kennels following theft

The Prince George Humane Society is appealing to the public for donations of pet kennels after several were stolen from their downtown facility.

Executive Director Angela McLaren says the Victoria Humane Society had sent up more than ten for the PG group to use this weekend.

She says they are kicking themselves over the decision to store them outdoors overnight, “We had just received them, and we need to sanitize them before we bring them in.”

“We were stupid to leaving them out there, that area is so high for incidents of theft.” McLaren added estimating about $1000 worth of kennels were stolen.

The Humane Society is located on First Ave near Fort Street.

McLaren says they were depending on the kennels for pickups this weekend and desperately need donations. “If anyone has kennels that are sitting around that they are not going to use, then we are asking people if they would be willing to donate them to us.”

Donations can be dropped off at 1839 – 1st Avenue #12 between 11 – 5 pm Tues to Sat. Pickup may also be arranged by calling (250) 640-7415
