If you’re looking to learn something new while getting some exercise, there’s going to be two Jane’s Walk in Prince George next Saturday.
Rebecca Hasdell is organising the interactive event so you can meet new people, and share ideas and stories. These take place all over the world and give residents a chance to discuss any topic while walking through a relevant area.
“Prince George is a real city of opportunity that I think is grappling with some of the same issues as many of the bigger centres where I’ve lived (like Toronto). Things like sustainability, housing, and try to build vibrant urban spaces.”
These two particular walks are centered around resource and social development.
The first, entitled “Resource Development in Rural and Remote Communities” starts at 10 AM. The meeting spot is on the east side of Exploration Place (towards the Fraser River). The second walk, “Creative Communities Shaping Livable Downtowns,” will start at noon at the Downtown Farmers’ Market. The group will gather at the vacant site immediately across from the market.
