The Brink Group of Companies has entered an agreement with the Bid Group to purchase Vanderhoof Speciality Wood Products.
The finger jointed lumber plant has been operating for 25 years, also specializing in wood pellets and post/rails.
“For us it’s a major acquisition.” said John A. Brink “It adds about 30% to our capacity, we employ in the area of 220 employees and this brings it up to over 300.”
“It is a strategic fit for our operation, the two operations match each other in terms of the products they manufacture – a natural fit” he added
The Vanderhoof plant will join Brink Forest Products in Prince George and Pleasant Valley Re manufacturing in Houston in the Brink Group.
But beyond plans for future growth, John says things won’t be changing much in Vanderhoof.
“There will be no material changes to the operation. The employees, no layoffs planned or changes to management. The management team has been in place for a long time and we know them well and I’m very pleased to have them onboard.”
