Prince George RCMP continues the fight against bike theft by holding some free bike registry events this week.
Corporal Craig Douglass says one thing helps make your bike unique.
“The serial number makes your bike original and without it, your bike is like hundreds of others coming off the assembly line that looks identical to yours with nothing to say it belongs to you.”
Local police will be at a number of events this week promoting the Garage 529 App which is a digital bike registration reporting and recovering network that assists bike owners and police reduce theft and recover bikes to their owners.
They will be at the following locations this week.
– Monday, July 18th 5:00 – 8:00 PM – Canadian Tire
– Wednesday, July 20th 5:00 – 7:00 PM – Otway
– Sunday, July 24th 12:00 – 5:00 PM – The Big Sink Smasher Pig Thrasher, Pidherny parking lot
– Monday, July 25th 5:00 – 8:00 PM – Hart Drugs/Hart Home Hardware, Austin Road
