If you’re looking for a place to hit the trails today, Tabor Mountain is open for biking for the first time in a long time.
“2007 was the last time we had the chairlift operational for mountain biking,” says Operationa Manager Mitchell Thibault. “I’m a mountain biker myself – I love the sport – and I wanted to see a bike park come back again so I got in there and made it happen.”
He says the mountain has something for riders of all skill levels.
“We’ve got a variety of trails from your basic, beginner, easy runs to your double black diamond, crazy gnarly fun stuff. Tickets at $345 for adults, $30 for youth.”
Two of the trails are machine built, something riders would normally have to travel to Sun Peaks to enjoy.
And while the sun is shining today, Mitchell says the mountain is still a bit muddy in places.
“The mountain is still pretty wet from the previous 3 weeks of rain that we had but it’s drying out. We need the support to beat the trails in and make them better. We’re also going to have the local bike shops out here to provide maintenance and service on bikes.”
The lifts open at 10:30 this morning and will run until 5pm. Hours are the same for tomorrow.
