Despite the gloomy morning, about 100 people headed to Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park for “Yoga in the Park” this morning.
Organizer and Chinook Yoga Studio co-owner Carla Wainwright says yoga outside is just better.
“Being outside, of course, we’re breathing fresh air, hopefully, there’s some sunshine, we’re getting out feet on the grass and really connecting into the Earth. There’s just something special that happens when we’re in nature practising yoga and it’s just a really, really incredible experience,” she says.
Whether you’re new to yoga or do it every day, she believes that this is the perfect way to spend your Sunday morning.
“The yoga classes we’re offering are for everybody. Whether you’re experienced or you’re a brand new beginner, it’s a great way to be outside and practice yoga in nature and enjoy being in a community with like-minded people.
The free yoga session is every Sunday in the park from 10 AM – 11 AM, rain or shine.
