UPDATE: Overdue camper located

An overdue camper has been found following an extensive search.

On Tuesday, RCMP received a report of an overdue camper that has not been seen since leaving the city alone on Friday, July 1st.

The 52-year-old, Prince George resident hadn’t shown up for work as scheduled this week.

Police weren’t sure where he was headed but believed it was to Seebach Forest Service Road area, Pass Lake, or Otter Lake. All extensive patrols came up short.

During the early morning of Wednesday, July 6th, the Prince George Search and Rescue Society for help began a searching.

At about 12 PM, the overdue camper was found in good health.

The Prince George RCMP is reminding the public – especially those who enjoy the outdoors – to prepare for the conditions and plan for unexpected issues. Always bring extra clothes, matches, a flashlight, a first aid kit and water with you. Ensure that someone knows your plans before you leave and whenever possible, don’t go alone.
