‘Mobile complaint clinic’ coming to Prince George

Do you feel like you’ve been treated unfairly by the government or one of its agencies?

Well get in line… because the BC Ombudsperson is coming to Prince George with a ‘mobile complaint clinic.’

Ombudsperson Jay Chalke says they receive about 7,500 complaints a year online, in mail, over the phone and in person.

“That ranges from the smallest municipalities to the largest government ministries and crown corporation. Our role is to investigate into if how the individual was treated was fair.”

“If we find that there was unfairness, we recommend to the public body way to remedy that unfairness. We often look for solutions that can benefit a number of people not just the complainant.”

He says the stop in Prince George is a part of a tour through the region, to give people the opportunity for a face to face meeting.

Chalke’s team will be in Prince George July 11-12th. You will need to call ahead to book an appointment at 1.800.567.3247
