Youth with axe, teenage vandals keep Quesnel RCMP busy

Axe wielding teenager

This morning at 8:40am, the Quesnel RCMP were called to a home on Robertson Ave for a report of a male outside the residence screaming and swinging an axe damaging property.

Police arrived within 2 minutes and located the male in a trailer on the property. He was arrested, the axe was seized, and a separate knife was located on him.

A 16 year old male from Quesnel is facing charges of Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purposes, Mischief, and Causing a Disturbance.

Vandalised vehicles

Quesnel RCMP also made two arrests after several vehicles were damaged on Monday.

Sergeant Darren Dodge says they received reports from people whose vehicles had been spray painted or rummaged through. In one case the contents in the vehicle were set on fire.

Dodge says officers found that seven vehicles and one home had been spray painted.

The incidents occurred downtown on Reid, McNaughton and McLean Streets. An abandoned car that was stolen out of Alberta was also recovered.

Later that day, they were dealing with a complaint in the 10 Mile Lake area and that police located two male youths and determined that they were responsible for the vehicle damage and stolen car.

Dodge says the youths, from Saskatchewan, are now facing several possible charges including Mischief, Theft Under 5 Thousand Dollars and Possession of Stolen Property.
