Rain in June 140% of monthly average

Last month’s amount of rain was well above the June average.

Environment Canada’s Lisa Coldwells kept track of the monthly rainfall.

“In June, there was 92.2 mm of rain and when you look at that normal (average) of 65.6 mm, you end up with a 140% of what you should normally get,” she says.

The two soggiest days of the month were June 15th and 16th, where about 42.5 mm rain fell. June 15th set a daily record with about 26.5 mm of rain.

Coldwells says it’s the 13th wettest June on record.
