City Council is helping out two upcoming events.
Prince George is giving “Coldsnap – Kick in the Plaza” and “Downtown Winter Carnival” a combined $27,000.
Mayor Lyn Hall says events like these prove how much spirit the community has.
“We’re trying to carry on with the momentum from the (2015 Canada Winter) Games and I think we’ve done a great job of it over the last year. We’re just trying to keep it moving,” he says, “here we are in June and they’re planning for February and into the new year and winter months to have celebrations that we can have fun at.”
$20,000 will go to Coldsnap and the Winter Carnival will get $7,000.
Another $3,000 will go toward branding and marketing.
