Co-op provides $75,000 donation toward Vanderhoof Aquatic Centre

The Vanderhoof Aquatic Centre is one step closer to becoming reality thanks to a $75,000 donation from Co-op.

Vanderhoof and District’s Co-op General Manager, Allan Bieganski says the funding was made available through their Community Spaces program.

“This year $1.5 million dollars was allocated for 21 projects across western Canada, out of those 21 the Vanderhoof Aquatic Centre was the recipient of this large sum of money.”

Bieganski adds it was also nice to help out the Stuart Nechako Regional Pool Society who have been spearheading the projects since June of 2014. “They have been working very hard to raise money as a community-based group so to be able to contribute this funding to their efforts is very well rewarded.”

The Vanderhoof Co-op also donated $25,000 last year putting the company’s total contribution over $100,000.

Once complete, the 16,000 square foot facility will feature a 6 lane Lap Pool with a large Leisure pool and Hot Tub.
