Violent home invasion in Williams Lake

RCMP in Williams Lake are investigating a report of a home invasion robbery which took place this morning on the 1600 block of Signal Point Road.

North District Media Relations Corporal Dave Tyreman says police were alerted of the incident by the 46 year old victim who had driven himself to the hospital at around 4:15 am.

“When our members arrived, he advised them that about roughly three quarters of an hour ago that three suspects entered his residence, entered his bedroom, assaulted him, tied him up, and went to his gun case.”

The 3 unknown suspects robbed the victim of of an undisclosed amount of cash and a black Gibson’s electric guitar in a black case, valued at $3000.

The only information the victim could provide to police is that one of the suspects was possibly 6′ tall and around 180 pounds, all three wore balaclavas, and one was referred to as Dustin or Justin.

Tyreman says although motive for the robbery is not yet known, police believe the suspects may have been looking for firearms as it appears the suspects may have known the victim owned a gun safe.

Anyone with further information is asked to contact Williams Lake RCMP or Crimestoppers.
