Diabetes supporter “Clotheslines” expands local services

Making donations for diabetes research has never been easier.

The local program “Clothesline” collects your old clothes in support of the Canadian Diabetes Association. The program has expanded and will now pick things up right from your doorstep.

To donate, Manager Maria Avgerinos says all you have to do is leave your clothes outside.

“Instead of having to go out and donate to one of our drop boxes, our truck comes to your door and picks up all your donations,” she says, “all people have to do is put them in a bag or a box and we pick it up throughout the day.”

Some of the proceeds will help send kids to a local Diabetic summer Camp.

Last year, Avgerinos says Clothesline kept over 2 million pounds of clothing out of landfills.
