Hundreds of runners set to hit the road for the Canadian Tire YMCA Road Race

Th 2016 Canadian Tire YMCA Road Race is on tomorrow. They’re expecting more than 300 runners to be pounding the pavement on Sunday.

“Our 30th annual Canadian Tire YMCA Road Race iHundreds of Runners hit the Rs this Sunday, June 5 and we also have the family Fun Run,” says race coordinator Tara Legault. “There are three race events. We have a half marathon, a 5km and a 10km. All are open to all ages and abilities.”

All races begin and end at Masich Place. Legault says the Family Fun Run is a great event for kids.

“They’ll run around the track at Masich Place three times. We have a colour powdered lane, like those colour runs you’ve seen. We also have a bubble lane. So they can run through the bubble machine or the powdered colour and come out with tie-dyed shirts.”

Registration is open until 1pm today at the YMCA on Massey Drive. You can find more information about the event here.
