The sun should be shining on this year’s Scotiabank MS walk.
“The walk is Sunday, June 5 at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park,” says MS Society spokesperson Penny Brown. “Registration is at 11, the walk starts at 12. You can get a hold of us at MSWalks.ca to register or give me a call at 778-764-0145 and we’ll get you registered.”
Brown says the walk is accessible for everyone, including those with mobility issues.
“It’s just around the park. It’s a flat surface. We have scooters available for people who can’t walk it, supplied by MediChair and PG Surge Med, big supporters of ours. So it’s doable for everyone.”
She says the walk raises awareness, along with funds, and there’s good reason for Canadians especially to show up.
“Canada has the highest rates of MS in the world. It is Canada’s disease. Our goal this year is $40,000. Bring your coworkers, your family, your friends and join up! We have all kinds of fun in the park. We’ve got events going on. We’ve got face painting, a photo booth, lunch, everything. It’s a great day.”
