Next year’s SD57 budget gets final reading Tuesday

The Prince George School Board is giving next year’s budget a final reading tonight.

The first two readings passed earlier this month, but not without grumblings from local trustees. Many aren’t pleased that SD57 plans to use reserve money to stay in the black.

The Board will also debate some other major topics, like spending $230,000 to connect Edgewood Elementary’s sewer system to the City’s, and the future of its dual credit agreement with UNBC.

It’s also expected that trustees will commit to improving conferencing capacity, which will better service to rural students.

This the School Board’s second-to-last meeting of the year. It starts at 7 at the Board Offices on Ferry Ave.
