Over 200 people rallied outside School District 57’s Office Building last night.
BC Teacher Federation President Jim Iker was in attendance and says he came as a series of rallies are being held across the province.
Iker says the BCTF will be meeting informally with the government’s chief negotiator today (WED) to find a way forward in negotiations.
He says they are only 1% off of wages in getting a contract signed, but he says the province still needs to bring enough funding to address learning conditions.
Iker was on a speakers list that included BD Federation of Labour President Jim Sinclair, along with reps from Unifor, the United Steelworkers Union and Prince George Teachers Association.
