Friday will be a special day for many UNBC grads who will finally get their degrees. For Susan Burke, it means a little bit more.
Burke will become the first UNBC Health Science PhD graduate.
Her dissertation focuses on cognitive dissonance, the tensions between a person’s ideas, attitudes, beliefs, or behaviours. She hopes her research can help reduce stress in the workplace.
Burke is proud to be the faculty’s first doctor.
“It’s been really exciting for me to be part of it. The program has been really wonderful. All of the professors have just been really, really supportive,” she says, “It’s exciting to be a part of something new.”
Dr. Burke will walk across the stage at 9:30 AM.
