Campfire regulations are still in effect at BC Parks according to the provincial conservation office.
Omineca Conservation Officer, Denny Chretien says the current rules are keeping things natural.
“People cannot have a fire that is larger than a metre high by a metre wide and it’s nice to keep that way so they are closely monitored. The law does provide people must have some kind of suppression equipment with them like a bucket of water that is large enough to put it out has to be close to the site.”
A valid angling license is also required if you wish to go fishing this weekend.
Pets must be kept on a leash at all times within provincial parks and in some restriction sites.
Some new rules are now in effect for those who plan on bringing an off-road vehicle which includes mandatory registration and a wearing a helmet.
Any suspicious activity can be reported to their 24-hour toll-free line at 1-877-952-7277.
