The Select Committee on Student Needs has a few ideas for Council that could improve the local student experience.
The group is made up of Councillor Merrick and students from UNBC, CNC, and local high schools. They’re all focused on bettering things like student housing, transportation, and downtown culture.
Most of all, UNBC Grad Society President Trina Johnson wants the City to remember all campuses when making serious decisions.
“I feel that the community of Prince George has often been very family-oriented surrounding its own little community sections, but students are sort of on the periphery and I would like to see that changed a little bit,” she says.
Thursday night was their last meeting. The Committee will present all its final recommendations to Council at an upcoming meeting.
