“Aqua Van” headed North for Long Weekend

The Exploration Place has a busy long weekend planned, highlighted by hosting aquatic friends from the lower Mainland.

The “Aqua Van” program will set up in the Centre’s parking lot, bringing in few animals and a touch tank to teach kids about the ocean.

This is the third time the program has made the trip North, but unlike the last two stops, Exploration Place CEO Tracy Calogheros says, this time, it’s free.

“Generally speaking, we have to pay to bring it up, which means we have to pay the public to see it. This time around, they’re coming on their own hook with some grant money they got for outreach so everybody gets to come for free. We’re passing that right along to the community,” she says.

The “first come, first served” program will be Sunday from 12 PM until 4 PM.

The train and museum will also be open.
