School District 57 has chosen its new superintendent.
Marilyn Marquis-ForsterĀ is currently the superintendent for the Swan Valley School Division in Manitoba.
The search was aided by the HR firm GoFutures.
“We’re really excited about that and it was a really good process,” says chairperson Tony Cable. “GoFutures was really a good organization to work with. They really involved all the stakeholder groups.”
Cable says the search was a comprehensive one.
“It was a very competitive process. We had some really great candidates from all parts of Canada, BC and even locally and I think we came out with a really good person to lead our district in the future.”
Choosing Marquis-Forster involved a multi-step process that consulted local stakeholders every step of the way.
“Stakeholder groups were asked to develop criteria. They had a whole day to interview the candidates and talked about the strengths they say and so on and then we interviewed the next day.”
Marquis-Forster will begin her duties in the district early in the 2016/17 school year.
