Tickets are now available for this year’s “CanDo” event.
The Handy Circle Resource Society puts on the social for people with disabilities, which will include karaoke, door prizes, and dancing at it’s 19th event this year.
“People are coming in getting their tickets and they’re so excited about it. I hope we can continue with this because it’s such a worthwhile cause,” says Program Manager Lorraine Young. “Some people say, ‘Oh you know, I don’t know if I’ll come’ but I say, ‘Even if you just come for the dinner, just to see what it’s like’ and they come for the dinner and they want to come back.”
Young says the event is fun for everyone and really makes a difference in people’s lives.
“Oh my goodness, if you’ve seen the people’s faces when they come to pick up their or they come to the event – it just seems like they really enjoy it.”
The event is free for people with disabilities and special needs. It starts at 4pm on May 28th in the CNC cafeteria.
