A former Vista Radio employee who now lives in Fort McMurray, Alberta shared her experience on Tuesday’s wildfire that evacuated 80,000 people.
Tamara Wolfe says it was a hectic situation.
“It took us 8 hours to go 70 kilometers north. We stayed in a lodge at one of the oilsand camps and got up at 4 am Wednesday morning and luckily we had a friend who lived in the area and had fuel, filled our gas tank and headed south.”
Her neighbourhood is also in shambles.
“Tuesday was devastating, my entire neighbourhood is gone, the trailer park is gone as well it’s like an RV park but is used year round along with 12 trailers in another neighbourhood.”
