Big Guy Lake celebrates hockey victory

Big Guy Lake posted a perfect 4-and-0 record to win an All-Native hockey tournament on the Easter long weekend in Vernon.

In other hockey:

Prince George lost 7-0 to Richmond Sunday and 4-0 to Langley Monday at the six team BC Hockey peewee female championship in Kamloops. P.G. has three more round robin games left: against Tri-Cities and North Shore Tuesday and vs. Kelowna Wednesday.

Prince George is 0-and-2 at the BC Hockey bantam female championship also in Kamloops. P.G. lost 10-1 to Richmond Sunday and 2-1 to Kelowna Monday. Prince George continues round robin play in the seven team tournament against North Shore Tuesday, Castlegar and South Island Wednesday and Kamlooops Thursday.

The Fort St John Flyers are Coy Cup champions for a second straight year.

The Flyers beat the host Terrace River Kings 3-2 to capture the 2015-16 Senior Male AA hockey Championship.

The Whitehorse Huskies ended up third and the Smithers Steelheads 4th in the four team tournament.

Smithers finished 0-and-3.

The BCHL third round of the playoffs will start Tuesday with the West Kelowna Warriors at the Chilliwack Chiefs.

Liam Blackburn and Jake LeBrun of Prince George, are forwards with the Warriors who upset the Penticton Vees four games to two in the Interior Division final.

The Nanaimo Clippers are also in the double round robin to see which two teams will advance to the Fred Page Cup Final.
