Inmate escapes custody while on leave in Prince George

A Canada-wide arrest warrant has been issued for an inmate that escaped custody while in Prince George.

34 year-old Rodney Abraham escaped while under an escorted absence from an Alberta security facility, Friday morning around 11:45. He was serving a 12 year sentence for robbery.

Communications Manager Jeff Campbell with Corrections Canada describes Abraham as 164 cm, 66 kg, with brown eyes and black hair and a number of tattoos from his neck to torso.

He says they don’t speculate where he is headed, but they are keeping contact with Prince George RCMP and ask anyone with information to call police at (250) 561-3300.
