School might very well be out for summer, and that leaves a lot of kids who need daily supervision.
Over at the YMCA in Prince George, Child Care Director Lynette Mikalishen says the phone has been aggressively ringing all day with concerned parents on the line.
She says they are doing the best they can to offer as much space as possible over the next two weeks.
“But we do have a full range of summer programs from our summer clubs, to recreation, to our summer camps that are filling quickly; but there are some spaces still available.”
She says summer camp activities range from canoeing and archery, as well as field trips.
