Despite a less than desirable record this season, a few bright spots still remain for the Prince George Spruce Kings.
One of them is forward Jarod Hovde.
The 18 year old product out of Camrose began the year in the Alberta Junior Hockey League with the Spruce Grove Saints before being acquired by Prince George earlier this season.
In 42 games, Hovde has recorded 5 goals and 4 assists along with 44 penalty minutes.
He plays a fast, hard and honest game for Prince George which has earned him the trust of the coaching staff allowing him to play in all situations.
Hovde has definitely noticed a difference since he arrived.
“When I first came here it was an adjustment from Alberta to BC but I think I am there now and am finally playing the way I should.”
“I try to work hard every night and do my part to help the team win.”
The Spruce Kings continue a 9 game home-stand on Wednesday against the Vernon Vipers.
