It’s Provincial Eating Disorders Awareness Week and Prince George is taking part.
It begins at 10:00 on Monday morning with information and resources about healthy body image and disordered eating followed by a weight scale activity.
A movie called “America the Beautiful” will also be shown later in the day at 4:30pm.
The film explores society where people like Paris Hilton dominate the news-stands and models who weigh less than 90 pounds die from malnutrition.
Until February 7th, the Northern Women’s Centre will also have a table with information about healthy body image and assisting a loved one who is struggling with an eating disorder.
