The Northern Women’s Centre in Prince George is hosting an Art Therapy Group today (Sun).
Associate Professor, Si Transken says a variety of items have been made in past years from the women who show up.
“In the past workshops women have made scrapbooks, or sculptures and art pieces on canvas with multiple media’s.”
Transken adds the 8 session program helps women who have experienced conflict in their lives.
“Some part of ourselves has been hurt, bruised or underdeveloped and through the process of sharing with other members you come to look at different ways of dealing with your issues and weaknesses by utilizing the advice of others in the group.”
It goes from 11am to 3pm and the program runs every Sunday for 8 weeks.
The cost to register is 200 dollars or 10 hours of work for the Women’s Centre.
