The Prince George RCMP are investigating a reported home invasion and assault of an 88 year old man yesterday.
Just after 9:30am the victim called from the University Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The incident occurred just after 4am when the man woke up after a man started attacking him inside his apartment on the 1800 block of 3rd avenue.
The elderly man fought off the offender who left the building empty handed.
Police say he left behind a Coors Light backpack cooler.
He is described as a tall thin build between the ages of 25 and 30.
Anyone with information is asked to call the local detachment or crime stoppers.
