"Mass quantity of blood" found in snow at scene of Loren Leslie's body

The Cody Legebokoff trial has resumed for the week in Prince George.

Day 5 of the trial saw testimony from another RCMP officer who attended the scene where 15 year old Loren Leslie’s body was found in November 2010; as well as from an officer in the forensics department.

The first witness, Sergeant James Brown, testified that he arrived at the scene off Highway 27 just after 1am on November 28th, 2010.

He was there to control the area, had an interaction with Loren’s father Doug Leslie, and was done with the scene in the afternoon.

Sergeant Brown then returned to the area on November 30th to help with a metal detector search, at which time he discovered an ipod in the snow, along with what he described as a “mass quantity of blood”.

Next on the stand was former Sergeant Norman Striker, a now retired RCMP officer who was in charge of the forensics unit in Prince George at the time.

Striker attended the scene on November 28th to collect evidence, taking samples of blood, tire tracks, and footprints.

Photos of the scene were shown to the jury, including those of Loren Leslie’s body, and blood stained snow.

Legebokoff faces first degree murder charges in the deaths of Loren Leslie, Cynthia Maas, Natasha Lynn Montgomery, and Jill Stuchenko.

The trial is expected to last six to eight months.
