Prince George residents will be receiving their War-Amps key tags in the coming weeks.
“Residents can expect to receive them in the mail. When they get them, they can attach them to their key-chain. It acts as a safeguard so if they ever lose them, the person who finds them can put them into any Canada Post mailbox.” Spokesperson Jamie Lunn says
Lunn added the program has seen success over the years. “This year marks the 70th anniversary of this service. Since it started more than 1.5 million sets of loss keys have been returned to their owners.”
The tags are completely free, but when an owners keys are returned to them they usually make a donation to War Amps. The initiative is the sole source of funding for the group with all proceeds going towards programming.
If you don’t receive your tag you can sign up online.
